425 DX NEWS - 10,000 SUBSCRIBERS - This week
our mailing list (list.425dxn.org) has gone beyond the mark of
the 10,000th subscriber - many thanks to you all for your
continuing support!
4W - After a break of two and a half months,
Peter/4W3CW (G3WQU) will be QRV again this week. He will be in
Timor Leste (formerly East Timor) for around another year. He
operates CW only on all HF bands, with 100 watts into a vertical.

5B - Alan, G3PMR will be active again from
Cyprus as 5B4AHJ from 24 September until 13 December. QSL via

9A - Ron, 9A5JR and Vlado, 9A2V expect to
operate from the island of Ilovik (EU-136, CI-029) on 19-20
September and from Grujica Island (EU-136, CI-026) and lighthouse

9H - Girts/YL2KL (9H3KKL), Karl/YL2MD
(9H3MMD) and Andy/YL2GQT (9H3GQT) will be active from Gozo Island
(EU-023), Malta on 24-30 September. They plan to operate on all
HF bands CW, SSB and RTTY, and to participate in the CQ/RJ WW DX

CT - CT1GFK/P, CT1GPQ/P and CT2IHP/P will be
active from Magalha Island (not IOTA, DIP AL-16) from 5 to 11 UTC

DL - DL1POX and DL9GKJ plan to operate fron
the islands of Kastenwerder and Weidenschwanz (new ones for the

G - The Cray Valley Radio Society will be
active as GB75BF from 11 UTC on 20 September to 11 UTC on the
21st to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the British Wireless
for the Blind Fund. Activity will be on 10-80 metres CW and SSB
(WARC bands excluded) as well as on 2 metres. QSL via G4DFI. [TNX

HB - HE2GR is the special event call for the
clubstation HB9GR, celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Swiss
Cantons of St. Gallen and Graubuenden. The station will be active
on CW, SSB and digital modes until 30 December. QSL via HB9DOT.

OZ - Look for Jakob, OZ7AEI/P to operate on
20 and 40 metres from the islands of Aro (EU-172, DIA JY-003,
ARLHS DEN-072), Barso (EU-172, JY-002) and Als (JY-001, ARLHS

PJ - Velde, PA0VDV will be active as
PJ6/PA0VDV from Saba Island (NA-145) from 28 September and 3

SV5 - Look for Uli, DJ9XB to participate in
the CQ/RJ WW DX RTTY Contest (27-28 September) as J45XB (SOSB

UA - UA0LQJ, RA0LGG, UA0LEM, RA0LHI, RA0LHJ,
RA0LHK and RA0LFN will be active (on 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 metres
SSB, CW and SSTV) as RK0LXD/p from Rotary Lighthouse (RLA-011) in

UR - Special event station EM225G will be
active on 19-30 September to celebrate the 225th anniversary of

UR - Vlad/UY0UY, Valery/UT1UW and Vlad/UT5UKY
plan to operate as UT4UZA/P from a Dnieper island (not IOTA,

VK - From 28 September through 30 October
Rich, PA0RRS will be active as VK4SRW and VK4SRW/p while
travelling from Cairns, Queensland to Sydney, NSW. He also plans
to visit the following islands: Magnetic (OC-171) on 5-6 October,
Hamilton (OC-160) on 8 October, Fraser (OC-142) on 11-13 October,
Moreton (OC-137) on 15 or 16 October. QSL via home call, direct

VP9 - Hurricane Fabian has forced Bert,
PA3GIO to postopone his 18-28 September trip to Bermuda [425DXN
643]. The new dates are 8-18 November. Look for PA3GIO/VP9 on 80,
40, 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10 metres SSB. QSL via PA3GIO, preferably

YB - Adhi, YC3MM plans to operate as YC3MM/5
from Nongsa Island and lighthouse from around 11 UTC on 20
September possibly until around 23 UTC on the 21st, depending on
local conditions. Also known as Putri, Pulau Nongsa is located

Maurizio, IZ1CRR is looking for a copy of the DX Handbook
written by Don Miller and published by CQ back in 1968.
The book is not available from the publisher any longer;

DXCC NEWS ---> YI1BGD has been
approved for DXCC credit (this operation was on hold from
18 March 2003 and after). Those who had this rejected
should contact DXCC at dxcc@arrl.org
to have their record updated.
IB0/IZ8FDH ---> Bad weather caused
Paolo, IZ8FDH to cancel his 13-18 September trip to the
Tremiti Islands [425DXN 643], but he managed to go and
operate from the island of Ponza (EU-045, IIA LT-001).

LOTW ---> The long-anticipated
"Logbook of the World" - the QSL-cardless ARRL
awards and contact credit system - - is now up and
running and open to all. Details can be found at http://www.arrl.org/lotw/.
PIRATE ---> Tony, T77C reports that
T77GL is a pirate station. Current legitimate callsigns
from San Marino are listed at http://www.arrsm.org.
QSL IU1L ---> Please note that Paolo,
IK1NLZ is the QSL manager only for contacts made with
IU1L back in 1996. This call has been reissued and was
used by ARI Genova operators from La Lanterna (ARLHS
ITA-177, WAIL LI-005) during this year's International
Lighthouse & Lightship Weekend. QSL cards for 2003 go
to ARI Genova direct (P.O. Box 1117, 16121 Genova GE,
Italy) or via bureau (cards already sent to IK1NLZ will

QSL TG0AA ---> Although ordered
months ago, the cards for Dennis Motschenbacher's (K7BV)
TG0AA operation in 2003 ARRL DX CW are still awaited from
the printer and the Club de Radioaficionados de Guatemala
is getting increasing numbers of inquiries for status of
QSL requests. The TG9 club is moving ahead with printing
the cards via another route so this matter can be cleared

found the following old logs: 3D2WM, 4B9CQ, C21BD,
HL9KLT, HL9MM, JT1AN (1978-80), KC6HA, KC6VE (1995),
KP4AM (1979-81), T30AC, T30W (1994), V31UN, VK0HM (Heard
Island), VP8AWU (1994), VQ9CQ, VQ9SS, VR1AY (1979), VR1BD
(1979), VR1PK (1979), VU2ACD, XB9Z (1992), XH9Z (1993),
XW8FA and ZK2VE. These are all hand written logs, some of
them are barely readable, others are not complete and not
all blank cards have been found (but Ron will have the
QSLs reprinted).
