This week's bulletin was made possible with info provided by

MYANMAR, XZ. XZ1A will be on the air during
the CQ WW 160 Meter DX CW contest. OH1RY and OH1MA will sign XZ1R
January 26 to February 3. OH1MA, OH1RY, OH0XX and OH2BH will be
on the air February 20 to 28, as XZ1A or XZ1R.
VIETNAM, XV. JA3UB, JR3MVF and JH3GRE will be
doing equipment and antenna maintenance at the club station in
Ho-chi-minh City February 9 to 15. They will operate on 160 to 6
meters with SSB and CW as time allows. Call and QSL route TBA.
XV1A checked into the 14226 DX Net at 1615z this past Sunday.
Rolf, XV7SX, has been on 160 meters and plans regular visits to
1827 kHz around 2330z. He has been heard on 3505 kHz at 0000z.
NORTH KOREA, P5. Rumblings have started in
the long anticipated 1996 P5 operation by OH2BH, OH0XX and
possibly others sometime in February.
WAKE ISLAND, KH9. All signs are GO for
AL7EL/KH9, slated for February 1 to 7. The new QSL route is via
K4HQI.
HEARD ISLAND, VK0. The re-organized
DXpedition is slated for early January 1997. Initial team members
include EA8AFJ, HB9AHL, KA6W, K0IR, KK6EK, N6EK, NP4IW, ON6TT,
PA3DUU and RA3AUU. Additional team members TBA.
SVALBARD, JW. Claude, F6EOZ, will be in
Svalbard from March 3 until mid-May and sign either JW/F6EOZ/MM
or JW/TM6E/MM. Claude will concentrate on 20 meters and satellite
contacts.
MAURITIUS, 3B8. Peter, DK1RP, will visit
3B8CF on February 16 for a two week stay. He hopes to operate 80
through 10 meter CW and SSB. QSL via the DARC Bureau.
AMERICAN SAMOA, KH8, WESTERN SAMOA, 5W, TONGA, A3, AND
HAWAII, KH6. Adriano, IK2GNW, will sign KH8/IK2GNW
February 18 to 22, 5W1NW from February 23 to 25, A35NW from
February 25 to 29 and KH6/IK2GNW March 1 to 3. He operates
primarily SSB, but does do some CW and RTTY. Operations will be
on 160 through 6 meters. Try 3800 kHz at 1630z. QSL via IK2GNW.
TONGA, A3. Paul, KK6H, will sign A35RK
February 20 to March 20, mostly on CW and RTTY, though some SSB
may be used. Operating time for this visit is limited, but check
between 0500 and 0900z and again between 1700 and 1900z. This
business trip is in preparation for relocating to Tonga in July.
QSL via W7TSQ, direct or bureau. DO NOT send cards via KK6H, the
W6 or A3 QSL Bureaus.
WESTERN MALAYSIA, 9M2. Tex, 9M2TO, will be in
the CQ WW 160 Meter Contest. Listen for him around 1900 kHz.
TUNISIA, 3V. Frank, DL8HYR, plans to be on
from 3V8BB March 1 to 10, mainly satellite and EME, but some
lower HF band operations are possible. YT1AD will be QRV from
3V8BB during the CQ WPX SSB Contest.
ANDORRA, C3. Peter, VE3GEJ, will sign C31LJ.
He will operate in the CQ WW 160 Meter contest providing snow and
ice do not adversely affect the antenna system.
MADEIRA ISLANDS, CT3. Dick, G3PFS, should
soon be QRV as CT3EU on 40 through 10 meters.
SAINT PIERRE AND MIQUELON, FP. FP5EK hopes to
be active daily at 2200z on 3515 kHz. QSL via K1RH.
GLORIOSO ISLAND, FR. FR5ZQ/G has been heard
on 14023 kHz at 1907 and 1933z.
JAN MAYEN, JX. JX9ZP operates mostly SSB from
the meteorological station.
ANTARCTICA. OA0MP will be active January 25
to 31 from Palmer Archipelago.
GUERNSEY, GU. The Guernsey ARS will operate
club station GU3HFN late evening/early morning January 27 and 28
in the CQ WW 160 Meter CW contest. QSL via the bureau or direct
to Guernsey ARS, PO Box 100, Guernsey GY1 3EL, via United
Kingdom.
TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS, VP5. Joe, K8JP,
will sign VP5/K8JP February 11 to 19, mostly CW on the low bands
and 30, 17 and 12 meters. He also hopes to sign VP5JP in the ARRL
DX CW Contest. QSL to Joe Pontek, PO Box 59573, Schaumburg, IL
60159-0573. Koji, JJ2QEH, and Mack, JJ2QXI, will operate from the
shack of VP5JM, probably with individual call signs, from
February 3 to 9. QSL to their home calls direct or via the JA
bureau.
THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO. If you don't have
a string of Super Bowl parties to attend this weekend, try the CQ
WW 160 Meter DX CW, REF French CW and/or UBA Phone contests. For
