ERITREA, E3. Jacky, F2CW/ZL3CW, received a letter from the Eritrean Ministry of Transport and Communications stating that Amateur Radio is officially open as of September 21, 1998, and was active as E31AA. He is expected to resume operations from here in the next few days on CW. QSL via ZL3CW.

VIETNAM, XW. Starting the first week of October special event station XV300S will be active until the end of the year to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Saigon. No QSL route was available at press time.

MOZAMBIQUE, C9. Reinhard, DL6DQW, will be active until October 6 as C91RF. QSL via home call, direct or bureau.

MALTA, 9H. A group of 24 Dutch hams will activate the Island of Qawra (EU-023) with five HF stations using their own 9H3 call signs on CW and SSB, October 3 to 18. Special club station call sign 9H0VRZ has also been issued. QSL this call via PA0JR, Andre van den Bos, Korianderweg 25, 9731 HW Groningen, The Netherlands.

EASTERN MALAYSIA, 9M6. Ed, K8EP, will be operating from the station of 9M6AAC from October 8 to 11. Ed will be concentrating on CW but will also operate some SSB. Operations will be mostly on 40, 20, 17, 15 and 10 meters. QSL via N2OO.

TONGA, A3. Klaus, DJ4SO/A35SO, and Manfred, DJ7RJ, will be active from October 1 to 19. QSL via the bureau to their home calls.

PAKISTAN, AP. Nasir, AP2NK, is active on 20 meter CW beaming short path to the USA. QSL via CBA. Tariq, AP2TJ, is active on 20 meters RTTY. QSL via W3HNK.

TAIWAN, BV. Look for BM0S which has a new prefix for Taiwan. This station was active this past weekend from downtown Taichung city. QSL to P.O.BOX 2006, Taichung City Taiwan, ROC.

FRENCH POLYNESIA, FO. Christian, F6IFC, will be active from three French Polynesian Islands as FO0RIC from September 29 to October 15. His itinerary includes Moorea Island, September 29 to October 7, Bora Bora Island, October 7 to 12, and Huahine Island, October 12 to 15.

TRISTAN DA CUNHA, ZD9. Bud, ZS1B, plans to be active September 28 and 29 on 14160, 14260, 21260 and 28460 kHz.
