5A1A QSL CARDS UPDATE. Bart,
K4CEF, supplied OPDXB with the latest on Toly's 5A QSL situation
direct from W4BRE. As of July 11, 1996, everything is
right-on-schedule for the QSLing of the July, 1995, 5A1A

paper logs, and after a hard-drive crash after Dayton, he has
gotten all the QSOs re-entered. A copy of the original paper logs
and the computer disks have been sealed with the Ukrainian
Customs Seal and were sent to N4AA, EXPRESS MAIL early morning
July 11 for a 4 to 6 day delivery. Toly has all your cards sent
long ago to the original OM and LZ QSL Managers and has started
answering these cards as of 7/11/96. ADDED NOTE: All OPDX
InterNet Subscribers will receive the complete press release as
an added bulletin.

FO, CLIPPERTON ISLAND (Help wanted!).
Interesting message was entered on CompuServe this past week from
David, KE6WDL. He announces that he is both a ham (General Class)
and a long-distance singlehanded sailor. David is in the early
stages of planning a trip from Los Angeles to Panama, leaving
this coming winter. Normally, he sails nonstop, but he may try to
make a landfall at a small, uninhabited atoll -- Clipperton
Island -- about 600 nm SW of Mexico. The sole purpose of the
landfall would be to set up and operate for a day or two. David
is looking for help on several questions such as, how to obtain
license for FO-land, how to land on the island and what is needed
for DXCC? If you can help, David can be reached by E-mail at
"71046.1647@compuserve.com".

meters. QSL to home calls. Meanwhile, Jorma/OH2KI, Seppo/OH1VR,

letter from the Minister of PTT DPRK regarding his license

"Dear Mr. Sandor Csige, On July 5th, 1996 I received
your kind letter. Your letter informed me that you serve good
purposes. However I'm required to inform to you that I can't
give you positive answer.
Yours sincerely:
Kim Hak Sob
Minister of PTT"
However, Sanyi continues to establish a very promising
relationship with the DPRK, so the P5 story has not ended just
yet. Laci has asked to tell all not to send any P5 QSL requests
to him. In the last couple of days he received dozens of QSLs to
the following slim: P51VK, P57VK, HM0DX, HM1DX, and P51HA.
