Network, AD1C, WA1YTW, KA2CYN, W4ZV, N5AW, W5ZPA, KH6BZF, K7WX,
NL7TB, K8YSE, WA0RJY, DF4RD, DL2HBX, DL3KUD, G4BUE & DX News
Sheet, JA1IDY, JF1SQC, LU6EF, OH7KD, VR2GO and ZS5S for the
following DX information.
3C, EQUATORIAL GUINEA. Marv,
N5AW, and Phil, N6ZZ, have licenses in hand for an operation from
Bioco Island, Equatorial Guinea. Their callsigns will be 3C5A for
Marv and 3C5Z for Phil. They will have two transceivers, an
amplifier, a tribander and dipoles. They also plan to operate
3C5Z in the CQWW CW Contest as a Multi/Single entry. Also, they
plan to operate the WARC bands outside of the contest, possibly
with two stations. Both of them prefer CW but will try to spend a
little time on SSB. Sorry, there will be no RTTY or packet. Phil
arrives in 3C-land November 17th and departs December 1st. Marv
arrives November 20th and departs the 28th. QSLs for both
stations go via N6ZZ.
3V, TUNISIA. Uli, DL2HBX, states
he is heading here for his first real pile-ups on Wednesday,
November 20th. He reports that on Thursday and Friday he will
most likely be spending time to get to know the people at 3V8BB
and to do some antenna work. He states, "I hope there will
be some time left over to become familiar with pile-ups before
the BIG ONE starts..." During the CQ WW DX Contest you can
find him around .033 kHz ("BCC frequencies") at least
on the high bands. He will have to see if this is suitable for
the low bands as well. NOTE! **** Every QSO will be confirmed via
the BURO! **** If you can't wait, direct submissions should go to
his home address: Ulrich Ann, Marienstr. 20a, D-38104
Braunschweig, Germany. Sufficient return postage for overseas
airmail currently is either 2 US green stamps or 1 (one!) IRC.
However, he asks for some patience as he plans to have color
photo cards printed.
5X, UGANDA (UPDATE). 5X4DLI
(Dave, KE4EW) and 5X4DEL (Dale, N3BNA) are now active from
northwest Uganda, from the station of 5X4F (Paul). QSL 5X4DLI via
KE4EW, 5X4DEL via WB3DNA and 5X4F via K3SW. They will join in a
Multi/Single entry (using battery power) in the CQWW-CW Contest
as 5X4F. Look for them 37 kHz from the bottom of the bands when
possible.
C21, NAURU. JUST A REMINDER!
Begin looking for the C21BH team to be active November 20-27th
(activity also during the CQWW CW Contest) to celebrate Martti
Laine's 50th birthday. Suggested frequencies:
During the CQ WW CW Contest they will move to the lower end of
the bands if they can't keep their prefered frequencies. Do
remember that one station will remain on SSB during the contest!

EU-089). He will sign CU2/DL3KUD from Sao Miguel Island (IOTA
EU-003) from the Jaunary 13-19th. Operations will be in CW only
and on all HF-Bands between 160 and 10 meters. He will use a
100W-TRX, R7, and dipoles for 160 and 80 meters. He may use a
small Power Amplifier, too. QSLs will be answered 100% via
bureau. If possible, don't send any QSLs direct please.
HC, EDUADOR. Look for Bernd,
DL1VJ, to be active in the upcoming CQWW CW Contest as HC1OT.
Activity will be on all bands.
HC8, GALAPAGOS ISLANDS. Trey,
N5KO (ex-WN4KKN), will be active as HC8N on all bands in the CQWW
CW, and will be active as N5KO/HC8 before and after the contest.
QSL via AA5BT.
HS, THAILAND. Jack, WA0RJY; Sam,
HS0/SM3DYU; LA7JO along with several others will be mounting a
Multi/Single effort with the callsign HS0AC during the CQWW CW
Contest weekend. They have received special permission to operate
on 80 and 160 meters, and they will be working on receiving
antennas for those bands during the week prior to the contest.
Listen for them on the low bands! Jack told OPDX that he will be
operating prior to the contest (and possibly after) as
HS0/WA0RJY.
JW, SVALBARD. The "DX News
Sheet" reports that Mathias, JW5NM, is very active on 160
meters (1820-1825 kHz). He hears JAs between 2105-2125z and the

in next CQWW CW Contest as a Multi/Single entry. Their
Sunrise/Sunset is 2023z/0744z. QSL via JF1SQC.
LX, LUXEMBOURG. Look for LX4B
during the CQWW CW Contest as an 80 meters single band entry. QSL
via LX1TI. Meanwhile, look for LX/DF0BK in the contest as a
Multi-Op/Single entry. Activity will be on 160-10 meters. QSL via
DL8SCG.
OI, FINLAND. The SRAL has
authorized OH7AAC to use callsign OI7T during both 1996 CQWW
SSB/CW Contest. So look for OH7AAC to use the callsign OI7T in
the upcoming CW contest as a Multi/Single entry. QSL via OH7AAC.
PZ, SURINAM (also possibly FY, French
Guiana). Mako, JA1OEM, will be active most days in
Surinam on CW. His callsign was not mentioned. Suggested
frequencies:
If possible, he will go to French Guiana (FY) for a week
during his stay in PZ-land and he hopes to be active on CW with
activity on 3.5/3.8 and 7 MHz. His length of stay was not
mentioned, but Mako will not join the CQWW CW Contest activity
and will be on SSB during the contest on November 23-24th. Mako
has been active from 5 continents (AS, OC, EU, NA and AF). This
DXpedition is his 6th and last continent. Mako is 70 years old!
