IRIS COLVIN, W6QL, SK. It is sad
to report that well known DXer Iris Colvin, W6QL, became a
"Silent Key (SK)" at the age of 83 on Wednesday,
February 18th. She died peacefully at her home in Richmond, CA.
Iris was renown as a prolific DXpeditioner, and along with her
late husband Lloyd, W6KG, activated many of the world's rarest
DXCC locations. She and Lloyd, also were avid QSLers and boasted
the world's largest collection of cards -- all alphabetized and
filed in cabinets which occupied an entire room in their home.
Iris was a member of DXCC Honor Roll, president of the Yasme
Foundation and a past president of the Northern California DX
Club. She was inducted into the CQ DX Hall of Fame in November,
1976. OPDX and the members of NODXA, along with many DXers
throughout the world will never forget the many QSOs/memories she
had provided over the years. Dxers have lost a rare one!

JF1LGD/JD1 to be active mainly on SSB (some CW) from here. He has
been active on the WARC bands (18 and 24 MHz) and also on 15
meters. Activity will last until the end of March. Meanwhile,

March 14-17th. They will sign as homecall/JD1. Activity will be
SSTV only on 20 and 15 meters.

HA6NL, HA7SK and HA7VK, plans to keep 2-3 stations simultaneously
on the air 24 hours a day to maximize band openings on all HF
bands. Activity will be on SSB, CW, and RTTY. Suggested
frequencies will be:
They state that if propagation allows them, they will work CW,
25 kHz from the bottom of the bands edge for U.S. stations to
give more people a chance to work them. They also mention that
they want to work on satellites such RS-10, 12, and 15, and if
they can obtained LIS, they want to work on 50 MHz. The callsign
will be announced later. All operators will probably use their
own suffixes, but the prefix is still not known yet. During the
CQ WPX CW Contest weekend, they would like to use the special
callsign JU0HA. For up-to-date announcements, check out the Web
page of Pannon DXC at: http://www.dunanet.hu/pannondxc/ The
DXpedition team would gratefully accept contributions from both
individuals, clubs or firms. Contributors should contact Laci,
HA0HW at: ha0khw@c3.hu or

address.
LU1ZC, DECEPCTION ISLAND. Still
need this one on 10 meters? Listen to LU1ZC's 10 meters beacon on
28212 kHz. The team there states propagation has been very poor.
They continue to try to improve their contacts on 160, 80, 10,
and 6 meters, but the propagation conditions are not helping.
Most of the time they are on 15 and 30 meters which are the only
useful bands. Last report, they have made a total of more than
35000 QSOs.
P5, NORTH KOREA. Toma, YU1AB,
reports to OPDX that Rasa, YU1RL, has gone to Pyongyang, and he
is there right now. He will be trying to get a licence from North
Korea.

for V26GG. Additional information is available via k5tt@contesting.com.

(XUX zero) from XU island.
