groups since these islands are the Makah Nation ancestral
burial grounds. Two kw stations will be on the air
before, during and after the IOTA contest to hand out
QSOs. This effort has already been coordinated with the
IOTA HQ Martin, G3ZAY. More to follow.

second station will run either on SSB or CW. They will be active
on 160-10 meters bands including the WARC bands with verticals
and wire antennas. The goal is to make as many QSOs as possible,
especially with stations outside of Europe. At the moment, Wolf
is trying to find a comfortable RTTY software, and they hope to
be able to satisfy some RTTY requests, too. QSL cards are
prefered via DARC-bureau. If you cannot wait, you may send your
cards direct to DL4BQE. For some further information, check out
the Web site at: http://privat.schlund.de/y/y36/shetl.htm.

wrote all his Qs on a paperlog.
GU2ENK is an INVALID callsign! Phil
Cooper, GU0SUP, GU and MU series QSL Sub-Manager informs
OPDX that the callsign GU2ENK appears to have been active
in the ARI contest (CW section) in 1997 and 1998. He has
made inquiries, and this callsign has NEVER been issued!
Please take note, as you will NOT get a QSL card.
QSL Manager, Fritz, DL7VRO, reports that

SPECIAL EVENT SPECIAL. From May 1st through
July 31st, special event station SN0APT will be active from
Lublin and Klementowice. The event is the 750th anniversary of
the first opening of a pharmacy in Poland. The "APT"

which means "pharmacy". The first Polish pharmacy was
opened in Swidnica in 1248. The special event is organized by
radio club "Ariadna" (SP8YCB). For any questions about
this station, please send E-mail to: radioam@ariadna.pl. QSL via
the bureau or direct to: SP8YCB Club, Po Box 403, 20950 Lublin,

amateurs to celebrate the opening of their new parliments.

(Scotland) will use 2A, 2S and 2T. GW stations (Wales) will use

Xpedition). The team will use the standard IOTA frequencies as
well as other frequencies. QSL via W8VOM at: MDXA-BEAVER, O-947
Lake Michigan DR, Grand Rapids, MI 49544.

V7, MARSHALL ISLANDS (possibly KH1, KH9 and maybe
others). Bruce, AC4G (ex-N4GAK), informs OPDX that he
will be active for at least 2 years from Kwajalein Island
beginning in mid-June, hopefully. Bruce expects to be active on
all bands unless it interferes with his work assignment. He will
be taking his Kenwood TS-850, a vertical Cushcraft R-7000, his
satellite rigs and antennas for AO10 Satellite QSOs, etc. Bruce
states that he hopes to be active from his residence as well as
from the club station on Kwaj. Many of you may remember Bruce as
QSL Manager for Ken Wells, V73C. Bruce hopes to pick up where Ken
left off and be active in many contests. He is applying for the
callsign of V73G. Bruce will continue to answer Ken's QSLs as
well as his own unless it becomes a problem. If so, he may ask
for a volunteer to help with the QSLing. Bruce adds that he also
hopes to be active from Baker-Howland, Wake, and a few other
islands nearby. Lastly, Bruce hopes to give out many QSOs on SSB
and CW. If you need a certain band QSO, let him know and he will
try to accomodate. He will not be taking RTTY gear in the hopes
that the club station has this setup already.
VK8, AUSTRALIA (Rare Area). Peter, will be
operating as VK8PW/p starting around May 14th from Arnhem Land,
an Aboriginal Land Trust, in the VK8 district some 350km east of
Darwin. This area is accessible by special permit only from the

October, 1999. Operations will be on 20-10 meters on SSB only.
QSLs for bureau requests go only to VE8RZ and for direct requests
