following DX information.
SPECIAL EDITOR'S NOTE: My family (wife/OPDX's
chief proof-reader Linda, Tedd [TJ], Katie) and I (KB8NW) would
like to wish all DXers, Contesters and OPDX readers a very
"Happy Holiday and Season's Greetings". Also, we would
like thank the many who have contributed information over the
year (there are too many to list). REMEMBER, without them there
would not be an OPDX Bulletin. I would also thank the many who
sent holiday greetings. I tried to answer some and wished I could
answer each one of them individually, but it would take a huge
amount of time. You would not believe the amount of E-mail I
receive. 73 and Have a Great Holiday de Tedd KB8NW.
3V8, TUNISIA. An announcement from the
"Association of Tunisian Radio Amateurs" (ASTRA) and
from the Headquarters of the Tunisian Scouts reports that a
second amateur radio station in Tunisia is on the air! Station
3V8ST is located in the capital of Tunis at the headquarter of
Tunisian Scouts. A special thanks goes to Mustapha/DL1BDF and
Udo/DL1BDI for setting up the station last week, to John/K3TUP
for sponsoring the TS-440, and the "Royal Omany Soltanat
Amateur Radio Club of Oman" (ROARS) for the Yaesu FT-747-GX.
Also, a special thanks to DARC and the IARU region 1 (STARS) and
Andy/DJ7IK for sponsoring some material. A picture of the new
station was sent to OPDX and it can be viewed at the Official
OPDX Web page by John, K8YSE, at: http://www.en.com/users/k8yse/3v8sts11.jpg.
3W, VIETNAM. Tom, SP5AUC (ex-YI9CW), who is
now active as 3W7CW and sometimes as XU7AAS, will be returning to
Poland on January 9th for a short holiday. He will return to
Vietnam probably in February. When he returns he will have a 3
element tribander (currently he is using only R7). With the new
antenna up, Tom will be spending more time in contests. QSLs
cards for 3W7CW and XU7AAS with nice pictures from Vietnam and
Cambodia should be received from the printer soon. However, Tom
will not send QSL cards out until he returns to Poland for a
longer holiday in June, July and August. Not many QSNs are
available for Tom, but most of his activity seems to be on 17 and
15 meters CW between 1200 and 1600z.
5H3, TANZANIA. "The 59(9) DXReport"
reports that John, IN3GNV, will be active until January 15th as
5H3MG. Operations will be on RTTY and SSB. OPDX has only seen one
QSN reported on John and that was on RTTY, 14086 kHz at 1915z.
QSL via IN3YYQ.
9N, NEPAL (Update and OOOPPSS/Correction).
Your editor's fingers got ahead of themselves typing 9N7DU
instead of the correct callsign 9N7UD in last week's bulletin.
However, Charlie, K4VUD, continues to be active as 9N7UD for the
next few weeks. He was spotted this past week mainly operating on
20 meters CW (around 14032 kHz between 0130 and 0230z). He was
also active on 40 meters CW around 2345z. Charlie was active on
20 meters SSB on 14195 kHz after 1200z.
A35, TONGA (He's back!). Paul, A35RK,
informed OPDX that he is back on the air. This past week Paul
received a new rig (TS-570DG) and a new TNC. He also mentioned
that a new Force-12 C3S antenna and repair parts for his low-band
vertical will be shipped soon. A35RK can now be found on 30-10
meters (6 meters and the low bands will come later when the
repair parts and a 6m transceiver arrive). Paul would like to
thanks all those who wrote offering assistance. Especially, he
wants to thank Bob Preston (W7TSQ) and Dennis Bowman (W7SNH) for
arranging all the purchases and shipping of his replacement gear.
Also, many thanks to N6AX for offering to repair his broken rigs.
Paul was heard this past weekend on 15/10 meters CW/SSB, after
2130z. QSL via W7TSQ.

QSL INFO AND NEWS...
Check your QSL route/address for 5R8FL.
Phil, DS1GQS, from Seoul, Korea has recently been
receiving many QSL requests for 5R8FL. Phil is not the
QSL manager for 5R8FL. The correct QSL manager for 5R8FL
is F5TBA. Fortunately, Phil has found the reason for all
the QSL cards being sent to him. The reason is the wrong
address listed on the Buck Master's Ham Call database
(tm). They have Phil's address listed for F5TBA. The
correct address for F5TBA is: Joel Champeaux, 372 Rue
Robert Le Coq, F-80000 Amiens, France.
